How To Reset A Guest Room For Spring And Guests
A Cozy Lifestyle with Clearissa Coward
Refreshing a guest room for spring can make visitors feel welcome and comfortable. The feel of the room can also make their stay comfortable and welcoming. Come on in the house as I share tips for How to Reset A Guest Room For Spring And Guests.
Lighten the bedding: Replace heavy winter bedding with lighter fabrics such as cotton or linen in bright, cheerful colors or floral patterns. This instantly adds a spring-like feel to the room.
Fluff Pillows and Cushions: Arrange pillows and cushions neatly on the bed and any seating areas. Fluff them up to make them inviting.
Add fresh/faux flowers: Place a vase of fresh or faux flowers on the nightstand or dresser. Tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths are great choices for spring and will bring a pop of color and fragrance to the room. I wish the tulip season were longer because I love the look of tulips in a vessel.
Switch out decor: Swap out dark, wintery decor for lighter, more whimsical pieces. Consider adding spring-themed artwork, decorative pillows or pillow covers with floral motifs, or a new area rug in pastel shades.
Let in natural light: Remove heavy curtains or drapes and replace them with sheer curtains or blinds that allow plenty of natural light to filter into the room. Sunlight can instantly brighten up a space and make it feel more inviting. Because I only have one window in my guest room, I love to use sheer curtains in that room.
Declutter: Clear out any clutter and excess items from the room to create a clean and serene environment for your guests. Provide ample storage space for their belongings so they can feel organized during their stay.
Update linens and towels: Make sure the guest room is stocked with fresh towels and linens. Consider adding a few extra touches such as a plush robe or slippers to make your guests feel pampered. Also, make sure you provide extra toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, etc., just in case your guest(s) forget something.
Scent the room: Use a light, fresh scent such as lavender or citrus to create a welcoming atmosphere in the guest room. You can use scented candles, diffusers, or linen sprays to add a subtle fragrance to the space. On a personal note, I do not use linen spray in my guestroom because I have a fear that my guest(s) could be allergic. I prefer to use a diffuser with a soft fresh and springy fragrance.
Temperature Control: Adjust the thermostat to a comfortable temperature for sleeping. If the room tends to be cold, provide an alternative heat source, and if the room is excessively warm, ensure there’s a fan or air conditioning.
WiFi Information: Leave a note with the WiFi network name and password for easy access to the internet.
Provide Entertainment: Offer books, magazines, or a TV with streaming services for entertainment during downtime.
By incorporating these simple tips, you can easily refresh your guest room for spring and create a warm and inviting space for your visitors to enjoy.
Don’t forget to share this post with your family & friends. I greatly appreciate it.
