The Many Colors Of Fall
A Cozy Lifestyle with Clearissa Coward
Nature is amazing. Have you ever walked through a forest or visited the mountains during the peak fall season? I have and it was breathtaking. All of the beautiful colors just took my breath away. Although fall is considered the vibrant and colorful season, all colors can be introduced into fall decor and be just as beautiful.
If you are like me, fall, in the past has always meant vibrant oranges, burgundies, golds, browns, and many other vibrant colors of nature. However, recently, I have fallen head over heels in love with the neutral colors of fall as well.

In this space, I want to delve into the colors of fall and how they make you feel.
Traditional Fall Colors
For most of us, the first color we think of when we think of fall is orange. I grew up with orange pumpkins. My mother always dressed her fall table with orange plates. And although she did not use faux florals, her mums were always orange as well.
Like my mother, or perhaps because of her, I have also leaned towards the color orange when I get the fall decor itch. Believe it or not, my mom never made pumpkin pie or pumpkin anything except roasting the pumpkin seeds. But we always had pumpkins on the front and back porches.
I am my mother’s daughter. I know, I know, I probably get the side-eye but I do not like pumpkin-flavored anything or pumpkin fragrances. Don’t judge me. 🙂 But I love pumpkins added to my fall decor.
Not only do I use orange pumpkins, but I also add the faux florals in all hues of orange and gold. For me, those colors just add warmth to a home.
I love to disperse these colors throughout our home. They just make me want to cuddle up and get cozy.
Neutral Fall Decor
Over the years we all have had a change in decor style at some point…right? Or at least I have. So at this stage in my life, although I still love the dramatic fall colors, I am absolutely drawn to the neutrals of late. The neutrals calm me and yet they also make me feel warm and cozy.
I am going through a fall decor metamorphosis. I am in love with neutrals. However, I still add a touch of the dramatic fall colors as well.
As you can see in the picture above and below, this year I leaned toward a more neutral color scheme, but I added a pop of color just out of habit.
Currently, I am enjoying neutrals so much and I am bringing in traditional fall colors minimally. Have you changed your decor style ever? Which decor style are you currently using to dress your home for fall?
Luckily we have so many muted colors to choose from. The sky is literally the fall decor limit.
Lately, some are even using non-tradition colors for fall as well. Would you use pink in your fall decor? Many do and there are many hues of pink to choose from and it can be beautiful. As can blue and green or even yellow. We no longer all have to decorate for fall or any season for that matter in traditional hues. Diversity in decor is an absolute good thing.
Would you ever use pink in your fall decor? So many choices. And that’s a good thing.
Thank you guys for all of the support you show to me and my blog. I feel so blessed because of you.
Until next time…I remain in my Element – God Bless!
Don’t forget to share this post with your friends & family. I greatly appreciate it.

My mother never made pumpkin pie either and she never did anything with the seeds. She bought nuts and got out her booden nut bowl and nut crackers. I love neutrals in the fall.
Hi Carol,
I thought I was the only person who has never had pumpkin anything as a child. As a matter-of-fact, I tried a few pumpkin dishes as an adult and I really was not impressed. I didn’t hate it but it ist wasn’t something I would have to have. I love the fall neutrals as well. Thanks for always stopping by.
