Crafting Organization System
Hey guys, I am popping in quickly to show you how I finally organized my napkin collection. Oh, Happy Day!!! Earlier I asked some of my decoupaging buddies how they organized their napkins and received all sorts of good advice. But I knew I wanted an economical and workable crafting organization system for me.
If you do not decoupage, I know you are asking…what napkin collection? However; if you are a decoupage crafter, you get it right away and you have probably struggled with the same organization issue. My stash of napkins was all over the place. Stored in different boxes and nothing organized. It made decoupaging a chore instead of the fun craft project it is supposed to be. Trying to get everything together and then find an appropriate napkin was near impossible or at least very time consuming and the disorganization took all of the fun out of a craft that I absolutely love so I had to do something about it.
This system may not work for you, but for now, it is working out perfectly for me. I chose an inexpensive (of course) system and all I had to buy were page protectors. I also used three binders which I already had. The most time-consuming part of the project was separating my collection into like items and in some cases seasonally. Once they were all spread out and separated the rest was easy peasy. I decided to put the back to back so that I could use both sides of the document protectors. Which means with this technique I was able to place four different designs into each protector. Two facing forward and two facing backward.
All three binders our stationed in an organization container that I purchased from the dollar store awhile back when I was reorganizing my office/craft space and added no additional cost. See I told you, easy peasy. I hope you know how happy this little detail makes me and how what a relief it is to know which napkins I already have, how many of each I have and that I can find what I am looking for just by flipping pages. Today is a good day! Technically, I suppose this makes me an organization nerd, but it’s those little things and systems that really make me happy. J How about you…what gets your creative juices flowing?

Thank You for Stopping By!
Great idea for organizing your napkins. I have put my favorite cards from family and friends into sleeves in three-ring binders.
Hi Leslie, Thank you. This system is working for me and at least now I know what I have and what I need. I love it. You have a good idea as well. Believe it or not, I have all of my old love letters and cards from family and friends, tied with ribbons in a cute storage box that sits on the floor in my office. They are separated by the person that sent them. Can you believe I still have love letters from high school? I am so sentimental. 🙂
Good ideas, Clarissa. Those pockets can be used for many things.
Hi Barbara,
Thanks for stopping by. Yes those pockets are very versatile. This system is certainly working for me right now.
My craft closet needs some organization desperately. I love this binder idea and I could use it for many things.
Hi Audrey and thank you. I am enjoying this method for now. Let me know if you try it. I would love to see how you use it. 🙂
