From the Desk of Clearissa’s Command Center/Divinely Organized
Last week was not a good week for me. I am an asthmatic and last week something kicked in and I was barely able to breathe. There was little I could do without the affects of asthma kicking in. My doctor took me out of work for the week and placed me on a massive and aggressive treatment including daily breathing treatments. Let’s suffice it to say, I was a sick puppy.
On Saturday, hubby wanted to get me out of the house and to do something fun for me. So where did we go? Why to the dollar store of course. I know, I know, it may not sound like much to you, but when you were as sick as I had been all week, and stuck in the house, it was such a joy to get out and about anywhere, but the dollar store…ohhh what a treat for me!
I found so many things that were ripe for the fall season. As you can see from the photos, there is just lots of stuff to make things “fall” pretty and others to help you get into the mood to organize and nest for the upcoming cooler temperatures when we are all stuck inside more.
I was truly surprised at all of the dinnerware they have. I absolutely love the square plates that fit so well into the larger round ones. You can use the same color or you can mix and match colors. It’s all based on your level of imagination. And did you see the glasses with the fall leaves? So cute! I do not have a red and white kitchen, but I thought the red checkered place mates, white plates with the red cups and other red accessories would be absolutely gorgeous if put together correctly. I hope someone takes advantage of this color scheme. And if you do, please share!
I was also impressed with all of the beautiful and rich colors of the storage containers. That gorgeous purple and orange are so pretty until I wanted to replace all of my green ones that I installed just this past summer, but I refrained. But there is nothing stopping you from getting these beauties. 🙂
My favorite find from this visit; however, and the one I brought home with me was the white storage bowls that look identical to my corning ware bowls. But guess what? They are plastic. That’s right ladies and gentlemen; they are not corning ware at all. They are plastic storage bowls. They are so cute! I bought the oblong ones, but they also have the round ones, and I think I need to go back tomorrow and pick up a couple of those as well.
That little trek through the dollar store was like medicine for my soul. I had such a good time just being out and enjoying all of the new fall things in the store. It was nice being with hubby too.
Although I absolutely love, love the dollar store for some things, I will make this one suggestion…do not go into the dollar store and just buy because everything is a dollar. Like you would in a high end store, take your time, take pictures and then take yourself home to make sure you need the things you were so in love with. I guarantee you that a lot of the time you will go back and pick up a few things and there will be other times when you will get home and decide, I really do not need this or that. Just treat this store like any other store and enjoy the ride.

There are two morals to this story. One, the dollar story rocks! Do not sleep on this store! And second, we should all be so grateful for good health and strength. We can do nothing without it, so I beseech you to give thanks for health every single day of your life.
Until next time,
Remained organized and designed…did I say I love the Dollar Store? 🙂
