Easter is Gone But It Is Still Spring…Right?

Easter is Gone But It Is Still Spring…Right?

Have you put away all of your Easter eggs and bunnies? Are you done with spring decorating? Well, I did not host Easter dinner this year. How about that? It’s been many many years since I have not had most of the family at my home for Easter. At least my kids. But this year everyone was away or ill and I only had my grandson because my daughter and granddaughter were at the beach with 9 other 17-year old girls. I’m sure they had a grand time but I enjoyed a relatively quiet Easter. And there is plenty of time to entertain because Easter is Gone But It Is Still Spring…Right?

Although I did not host, I did set a table and I’ve decided that I am going to leave it set for a little bit. I realize I have to put the Easter eggs away but I am going to hang out with my bunnies for a bit longer. After all, they are around all summer and besides they make me happy.

I set my table this year without spending one dime. I shopped my house, mixed and matched, and used things I already had. Like this bunny runner. I bought him last year from Home Goods and decided he is cute enough to use again. I love the neutral colors.

The centerpiece is a hodgepodge of things I had around the house. The vase of flowers was in my kitchen, the angels (I have had forever) were in the living room, and I picked the bunnies up at Target earlier this spring. You can see my entire haul here.  This little vignette cost me $0.00. I like that.

The entire table setting were things I had and have used before. Not necessarily together but that’s the fun of it. You can mix and match decor just like you do clothing.

I dressed the mirror with a wreath I made last year. It adds a pop of color to that side of the room and I love the way it is reflected in the mirror.

This is a view from the kitchen. I should have probably moved the step stool and trash receptacle but we live in our house. It is not always picture perfect. It’s called transparency. When the table is set, I love the view of the dining room from the kitchen.

Here are a few more views of the table setting.

This is a combination of tableware I have had and used before. Again, I did not spend a dime for this spring refresh. Not just Easter, but spring and hopefully some of it will carry through summer as well.

I love this look. I’ve given you a peak in the picture above. I recently replaced two pictures that I love with these two windows with wreaths for spring/summer/until I need a change.  Stay tuned for another post on how this was done. Trust me, it was easy and what’s my favorite word…inexpensive. You could even say cheap in this case. 🙂 That post is upcoming so stay tuned.

So how do you feel about no cost decorating? Do you ever mix and match your decor stash?
