How To Purge 2020 From Your Home
A Cozy Lifestyle with Clearissa Coward
The new year is upon us. Finally, 2020 will be in our rear-view mirror. Hallelujah!! This is one year I will be happy to throw out the old and move into the new. Ending this year has me feeling lighter and brighter and I want my home to feel the same. With that in mind, I am getting antsy to refresh, reorganize, and purge my home. How about you? In this blog, I will share tips of how to purge 2020 from your home.

What areas of your home will be purging and/or organizing in the new year?
I am already poised to purge 2020 from every room in my home, but I realize that can be intimidating for some. Don’t get me wrong, I understand 2020 is not the total reason that my home needs a refresh. It would be unfair and unrealistic to blame 2020 for all my woes, however, being stuck inside for almost ten months now, I am noticing more things than I probably would have if I were not at home most of the time. Is that happening to you as well?

Although I am totally in the holiday spirit right now, I am so looking forward to the new year when I can begin my home refresh. I received my new journal and I couldn’t wait to begin organizing my 2021 home refresh in writing which makes it real for me. I have decided to share my initial plan with you.
Note this plan will fall into place after all of the Christmas decorations are taken down, organized, and put away. Perhaps I should have started my plan with that. What do you think? Let me know in the comments if you would be interested in how I remove and store my Christmas decorations.
Initial Plan
Begin in the kitchen:
Pots & Pans
Check pots and pans for nicks in Teflon, burnt on gook, discoloration
Clean those that can be cleaned
Purge old pots & replace
Kitchen Gadgets
Go through the kitchen and purge all duplicate gadgets and appliances
Purge dinnerware & glassware that is chipped or no longer used
Tupperware
Purge all discolored Tupperware pieces
If possible, you could invest in a set of glassware storage containers (planning ahead of time gives you time to get everything you will need in-house)
Keep this plan, and perhaps add it to your planner as I have. This will be our first refresh in January and you can prepare for it now.
Do you have ideas of how to safely celebrate the holiday season? Are you still socially distancing and will you celebrate the Christmas holiday differently this year?

Hugs & Blessings,
Good ideas. My favorite is buying glass storage containers which do not leach chemicals – so much better for the environment and our health. Have a great day!
Thanks Carol. I recently started doing that. I am almost completely done with plastic. But I do still have a few. Glad you enjoyed the article. Thanks for reading.
