All colleges and universities have a certain flavor and what some may call “soul” and they are all different. Walk any college/university campus and watch the young adults enrolled interact and you get a feel for the level of community the college evokes. If you are blessed enough to visit or attend a Historically Black College/University (HBCU) campus you can feel the soul and community that is the foundation of all HBCUs.

No matter the region or the specialty, all HBCUs offer a sort of family atmosphere and community that graduates take with them for a lifetime. The way graduates of HBCUs feel about their alma mater is almost tangible. They are so acclimated and dedicated to the legacy of their colleges until it becomes a lifetime of support and family loyalty.
You can see how dedicated they are at any game, recital, graduation ceremony or homecoming event in all of the university apparel that is sported around the campus by both the current students as well as the alumni. It’s a beautiful thing to witness.
