It’s Fall Yall-Let’s Get Colorful
When I tell you that I have a lot going on, that is an understatement. I have finally semi-launched
my first eBook. Organize Your Life in 21 Days is the title and it is chocked full of great tips. You
can be one of the first to get a copy and I promise you this book will help you with many of your organizational issues. Even the emotional ones. So be sure to pick up your copy today. Moving right along because It’s Fall Yall-Let’s Get Colorful.
I showed you a few of my small upcycles for fall last week and this week I have painted a couple of furniture pieces and added the look, feel, and smell of fall to our downstairs area. Although a lot of fun, it has also been a lot of work as well. Busy little fall bee, that’s me. 🙂

So let’s begin in my entryway. Do you remember this table? It was a rustic solid wood before I got a hold of it with some yellow paint. This was that table last fall.
And here is that same table this year.
I used furniture restorer on the top. I did not have to re-stain it. The furniture restorer brought the wood back to life. I used cherry color. You can get Furniture Restore A Finish here.
As I’ve said before, the dining room is my favorite room in the house. I’m not sure why, but I know I just feel good when I’m in it or when I pass it. Weird huh? Well because it’s my favorite room, it is usually the first room I refresh every season.
This year I kept it simple but colorful. If you peek behind the Indian Corn and the pumpkin you will see my yellow summer curtains were still up when I began. That’s because I really did not want to take them down. But once all of the fall stuff was up I decided to take them down until next year and perhaps reuse them next year.
I love Indian Corn. Oh, and both the marble-filled cupcake plate and mason jar are upcycles of mine. I think the mason jar could use some candy corn, don’t you?
As you can see the change in curtains do make a huge difference. I decided not to go back to the beige sheers. I left the white ones up and I like the combination. Do you?
Isn’t it funny how I always gravitate towards the same colors? The bunny runner was for spring and summer and the pumpkin is the one I chose for fall. The same colors. 🙂 But I love them both and will reuse them I am sure.
I wish the lighting was better so you could really see the colors in these place settings. The chargers are a gorgeous color between rust and burgundy and the colors in the small plates compliment them perfectly. The yellow plates are a perfect contrast as well. I bought the chargers and small plates at Pier 1. Can you believe the chargers were marked down to $2.99 and there was 30% off of that? The sales people were buying these in all colors for themselves and as Holiday gifts.
This Give Thanks tray is another of my upcycles.
Finally, I tied the silverware and napkin with ribbon. Simple but effective. Stay tuned for the hallway, living room, and kitchen. I’ve added a bit of fall to each little space. The painted yellow table above was just a peek-a-boo. 🙂
…and don’t forget Organize Your Life in 21 Days is available for download. Get your copy today.
Here’s a quick look at last year’s fall refresh. Quite different I think.
