Monday’s Memories – Bedroom Organization Tips

This week’s quick tip for maintaining an organized home is a simple one but one a lot of us have difficulty committing to do. It sounds simple enough, Hang up your clothes every day. Never leave clothing thrown over a char or worse, on the floor.

Hanging up your clothes may take 5 minutes if done each day, however, if you let them pile up, you could spend an hour or even more on Saturday or whenever you clean, hanging up clothing. This is time that could be better spent doing something else.

Another perk for hanging up your clothes on a daily basis is the way it makes your room look and feels. Your bedroom should be your sanctuary. It should feel relaxing and welcoming but it cannot if it is in chaos with clothing thrown around. When clothes are put away and not left all over the room looks a lot less cluttered and thusly organized and tidy.
The key is to make it convenient to put clothes away. Place and label a laundry basket and a basket for clothes that will go to the cleaners in or near your closet. With the baskets in place, when you undress in or near the closet, you can toss clothes to be laundered at home in the laundry basket and items that will go the professional cleaners in the appropriate basket as you take them off. That’s easier than throwing them on the floor or over a chair or on that treadmill that you are no longer using. 🙂

Make sure you have empty hangers available in the front of your closet. Having the hangers conveniently located will make it easier to hang those items that will go back into the closet after you wear them.
There you have it. Spend just five minutes a day hanging up your clothing and save at least an hour or more on the weekend picking up and separating a room full of clothing thrown about.

Great tips Clearissa. I find that picking up as I go is indeed the best way to keep a room clean. I few minutes each day keeps it looking nice. Thanks for sharing with us. Pinned and shared.
Clearissa my daughter can really use this tip. Her bed is full of clothes and she has been talking about cleaning it up but so far no action. I’m going to show her your post.
Thank you Carol. You and I are on the same page as far as keeping things in order. I am glad you enjoyed the article.
🙂 Good luck Mary. I hope your daughter enjoys the article. Personally, a cluttered bedroom affects how I sleep. But I guess when you’re young, you don’t issues. 🙂 Thank you for stopping by and let me know how your daughter likes the article and if it motivates her.
